Short biography Young Whi Kim is an early follower of Sun Myung Moon. He has been the president of the Unification Church of South Korea.

Young Hwi Kim was born in 1928.

He had studied electrical engineering at Seoul National University and joined the first class of Korea’s Special Air Force Academy in 1953.

He joined the Unification Church on 20 April 1955.

He and his wife Dae Hwa Young were one of the original three couples engaged by Sun Myung Moon and Hak Ja Han prior to their own wedding.

Following Hyo Won Eu’s passing in 1970, he became the second president of the Unification Church of South Korea.

He served the Unification Church in various leadership positions over the last sixty years.

He was the lecturer at the first Divine Principle workshop in the United States overseen by Sun Myung Moon and author of The Divine Principle Study Guide, Part 1.

He served as a regional leader in several European countries and as an envoy to the United Kingdom.

In 2013, Young Hwi Kim represented Hak Ja Han in a five-city U.S. revival tour.

He also served as director of the Cheon Seong Gyeong project in Korea.
