Raymond Mas joined the Unification Church in 1971 in Washington, D.C..

He was sent by the Unification Church to Bolivia, as the country’s first American missionary, and served throughout Central Africa and Uruguay.

Raymond Mas and his wife Irma Mass were blessed by Sun Myung Moon and are part of the 2075 blessed couples. They were assigned as national messiahs to Turkey, where they lived for many years.

Raymond was devoted to the cause of religious freedom, working for the International Coalition for Religious Freedom, Middle East Peace Initiative and the Ambassadors for Peace initiative.

Raymond Mas died on February 11th, 2017, after a long illness due to a stroke suffered in 2010.
