SFP Director of Development Tony Devine Moves on to a New Opportunity March 4, 2010 Service For Peace announced today that Director of Development, Tony Devine, will be moving on to accept a new position at one of SFP's partner organization, Global Peace Festival Foundation (GPFF).

In thanking Tony for his years of work, CEO Charles Phillips pointed out the advantages of the change. "Of course, it is always a sad occasion when a colleague leaves but, knowing the needs of GPFF, and the skills and talents that Tony offers, I had no hesitation in supporting this change. It will allow Tony to utilize all of his abilities and it will strengthen one of our key partner organizations at a crucial moment in its history," he said.

Tony Devine played a crucial role in the formative years of Service For Peace. Whether he was developing SFP's educational materials or directing the development of the local chapters, Tony always brought the highest levels of commitment and dedication to his work. In recent years, Tony performed the crucial task of securing and maintaining funding for our programs while also raising the organization's understanding of the importance and the techniques of successful fundraising.

"I know that all of you will want to join with me in thanking Tony for his years of dedication to SFP and wishing him great success in his work with GPFF," said Dr. Phillips.


Vice President Education Division, Global Peace Foundation Dr. Tony Devine, Ed. D. is the international Vice President of the Education Division of Global Peace Foundation. He has more than 30 years of leadership experience in the non-governmental sector. Dr. Devine oversees the development of Character, Creativity and Leadership programs in Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Paraguay, Brazil, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, Mongolia, Philippines and USA. In Kenya he pioneered a school-wide Character and Creativity Initiative in high schools that exposes youth to an experiential learning environment that builds twenty-first century competencies through transforming school culture. Dr. Devine is an adjunct professor at the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut.
