Various overviews of all categories are found in Category network.

Here is the List of tags.

What is the difference between categories and tags? Categories form a larger group that a concept or a person belongs to. Tags are attached qualities of an individual or a person.

The difference is not always so clear, because it depends on the page or concept or person.

.....

Example: An oak tree belongs to the category 'Trees.' An 'acorn' would be more like a tag that can be given to the topic oak tree. Oak trees are not in the category 'acorns'.

RULE: When a person or concept or a page comes in a certain category, DO NOT also give this page a tag with the same name as the category.
