Sun Kil Choi was the first wife of Sun Myung Moon. They married on 28 April 1945. On 2 April 1946 their son Sung Jin Moon was born. Moon and Choi divorced on 8 January 1957.

"Moon returned from school in Tokyo in early October 1943. He had been to evening classes 6:00PM-9:30PM at a Technical High School. He was matched to Sun-kil Choi in November 1943. Moon said to her at that time that he was a graduate from Waseda University. That was one of the reasons that she agreed to marry Moon. She thought that he had good prospects. (Years later she found out that he had never been to Waseda University. She told this story in a magazine interview in 1993.)

Moon married Sun-kil Choi on May 9th 1945. Sung-jin was born in April 1946 (April 2 according to the lunar calendar)."[1]
