- Young Oon Kim writes a new version of the Divine Principle.
- April 11 - First Blessing ceremony of Moon's marriage to Han Hak Ja.
- April 16 - Blessing of 3 couples from among his disciples.

- 43-Couple Blessing, held in Japan, the US, England. First group of non-Koreans to receive the Blessing.
- His son Hee Jin dies in a train accident in Seoul.
- April 10 - Birth of son Hyun Jin.[10]
