150703 Changes in Iframe for private files
When you use the link 'Add private file' to make a private file, and you filled into the infobox form the storage url for the uploaded file, the head of the Iframe now automatically shows a link to that url.
See for example: Private:Book Exposition of the Divine Principle
150703 Files in Iframes
Please whenever you add files in Iframes, if there is an url for a printable version of the web page, use that printable version. This is especially important for Wikipedia articles. Wikipedia articles can be uploaded as files in the public section.

150704 Changes in Private:page with databox
Initially i had made 1 + 9 categories for the private pages, assuming that these categories were hidden. But while in the search functions of the wiki private pages can only be found by users who are logged in, the category system is not so tightly closed. And every visitor of the site can find all the private pages by searching in the categories list and categories tree. They cannot see the private pages unless they are logged in, but they can see the titles of private pages.
It's not a big problem for our privacy, but i had to make some changes in how categories are attributed to private pages. You're more free to do so now.
Inevitably some help pages, diagrams and tutorials may still teach it the old way. But the form that you have to fill out gives the right instructions.

Private:Eight textbooks of Sun Myung Moon
Where are you heading with this page? What's your intention? Why is it a private page?
--DivineCriticizer (talk) 23:59, 1 July 2015 (PDT)
- This page was meant as a table of contents for the interactive versions of the eight textbooks.
- I made it private because all the books are copyrighted. Doesn't it defeat the purpose to have a public page with links to private files?
- I also put this up before adding links so you could review it and let me know if I'm organizing this right.
--Smmaadmin (talk) 05:51, 2 July 2015 (PDT)
Doesn't it defeat the purpose to have a public page with links to private files?
Following that logic we should make the entire SMMA private, because links to private files are all over the place, in categories, in public pages etc.

Consider to use 'Start research project' for this
Setting up a research project --DivineCriticizer (talk) 01:10, 2 July 2015 (PDT)
- I can do it that way. I see this more as a TOC for a group of files rather than a research project.
--Smmaadmin (talk) 05:54, 2 July 2015 (PDT)
- A TOC in SMMA with an introduction with quotes by Moon? I understand that this is not meant as a research project, but if you had gone through the procedure for doing research projects, your page would have been much better.
- A TOC the way that you want to make this is not wrong, but still more important is that this page is going to be integrated into the whole of SMMA. And this won't be the case when you do it like this. I think you have no clue yet how SMMA is organized and until you do we'll keep having problems like this. When you make pages like this, you first have to think how to integrate it into the whole. Now you're pushing upon SMMA an entirely different system of organizing, and this will confuse the entire site. You could still include a TOC here on this page, but FIRST you'll need to integrate the page into the existing SMMA system. I'll write a new section farther down for this.--DivineCriticizer (talk) 06:30, 2 July 2015 (PDT)

I made this new help page: Naming conventions --DivineCriticizer (talk) 00:51, 2 July 2015 (PDT)
Five hours later
I have been praying about this page off and on, and my being upset about the content has not diminished but increased. Must you introduce these books with the totally disgusting words by Moon himself? He's abusing God's name and using the miseries of mankind to promote himself. The only critique comes from equally evil creeps like Hyun Jin Moon and Young Whi Kim. How are you ever getting this page in good shape and spirit when you start it like that? I know you're not finished making it, but already the entire spirit and energy are that of advertising Moon. I wouldn't know a way to make this again in order except that after reflecting you make a totally new start.
- I used Moons words in order to show how much importance he attached to these eight books. I realize now that doing this changed the page from a mere TOC to an editorial as well as inadvertently taking sides in a current UC controversy. --Smmaadmin (talk) 06:21, 2 July 2015 (PDT)
- 'a current UC controversy' - That would make an interesting article by itself, but not on an introductory page of the 8 books like this one. You could mention it on the main page about the 8 books and then link to a new page.--DivineCriticizer (talk) 08:51, 2 July 2015 (PDT)
I've written a whole procedure 'Start research project' that is meant to avoid these kinds of problems of coming under, for instance, Moon, when you're quoting him or writing about him. Maybe you try that out...... It'll take some time to learn this, but these matters cannot be learned easily.
I would rather not have written this, if i knew a way to circumvent being straight to you about this. I think that you're still too much in a Moonie environment, otherwise this would never have happened. I see very serious problems behind this that you must solve.
--DivineCriticizer (talk) 04:44, 2 July 2015 (PDT)
- Editors are supposed to bring a fresh set of eyes to any project in order to give insights the writer can't see for himself. I understand it's sometimes a brutal process. I've done it myself and I know there's no substitute for perfect honesty. Moon got his hooks in deep and I know its going to be a bloody mess pulling them out. --Smmaadmin (talk) 06:21, 2 July 2015 (PDT)
- Yes i can see how deep the hooks are. It's over 20 years ago that God gave me the task to analyze many speeches by Moon and also quite some books written by early disciples of Moon. It was spiritually difficult but in the end very shocking because everyone of them turned out to be filled with lies and half-lies. The propaganda veneer hides these lies. It will be the value of SMMA to uncover the reality behind all the sweet talk. That will have more effect than speaking against the 6 Marys or the pikareun rituals, because it's through the propaganda that people were deceived. --DivineCriticizer (talk) 08:57, 2 July 2015 (PDT)
I don't want to go into too many details about this. But to mention one point: You let Moon himself introduce these books. But we're the editors of SMMA and we ourselves should introduce these books. If you let Moon do it, every reader knows that it implies that you respect Moon. Then, later in the article, if you want to tell what Moon thinks about these books, you have to be very careful to do it in a way that the right energy is put in it. You must avoid that people come under Moon's words. There are many ways of doing it right, and also many ways of doing it wrong. Bottom line is, you want readers who have read it to have gotten good words and energy from you. In order to do this, you MUST first separate truth from lies, etc. This is shown in the 'Start research project' procedure.
--DivineCriticizer (talk) 04:50, 2 July 2015 (PDT)
- Okay, I'll use the Start Research form. All books except CSG are ready in the interactive format which is searchable, allows for annotation, bookmarks, copying and printing. --Smmaadmin (talk) 06:21, 2 July 2015 (PDT)

A suggestion how you can set up this page for 8 textbooks
- Start a public page about the 8 textbooks. Make the page informative with neutral information. Not a propaganda piece for Moon. You don't really need to use the Research project procedure for it, but if you had done it, you would not have used so many quotes by Moon.
- You can also make there a list of the 8 books. I'm not sure if each of the books deserve their own page, but it's a possibility.
- In the public page you can add the books in Iframes, that is when you have a location of these books online other than SMMA2 or SMMA.
- Make sure at this stage that you integrate the page or pages into the existing SMMA, correct categories, cross-linking with other pages. Please take your time for this because this will make out a big proportion of the value of the entire site.
- In the private section you add the files, probably a page and file per book. Here you put in Iframe our own stored version.
- In the public page about the 8 textbooks you add links to the private files. It's not a problem to do that. We are not disclosing that we have these books stored for ourselves. All it makes is a link to a private page about one of these books. As i said before, we cannot hide titles and existence of the private pages and categories, but visitors cannot see its content because they have to log in.
A important reason why i made these forms and procedures is to help each of us to keep control over the entire process of claiming these materials. When you work with books by Moon, his energy comes over you. But when you strictly follow the procedures and the forms, it will help you to keep overview and to not come under this energy. It will still be a very difficult task to do. Do not underestimate the difficulty in this. --DivineCriticizer (talk) 06:44, 2 July 2015 (PDT)
- PS I made the Category:About books and publications, in main category SMMA. It's distinguished from the Library category, which is the category that contains the actual books and publications.

Eight textbooks of Sun Myung Moon
It begins to feel better now. I can see that while you're working with these books you tend to fall back into the spirit of how you related to these books in the past. That feeling is still noticeable in the latest version of the page. For example, a red link with a title containing the word 'True Father.' That may be unavoidable in quoted texts but when we make our own titles, we should change it. You should not even write down such words while you are preparing stuff, because it will bring you under Moon.
Put yourself in the chair of an editor at an independent newspaper and think how you would write about these books. Would you care what Moon thinks about 'God's will' being fulfilled by reading these books, or would you rather try to find some critical or even ridiculing words about this, without losing your neutrality?
When i read what Moon says about these books, it makes me ROFL, it's such an expression of megalomania. His books, especially those of the later years, are so totally full with lies and show an attitude of looking down on and offending God. When i read his later speeches and i put myself in the shoes of a judge at God's Court, i would demand capital punishment for his arrogance and betrayal of God. Fact is, he has betrayed God and he already has received the verdict of capital punishment by the Heavenly Court of Justice in the spirit world.
- Okay, I will create a folder on the SMMA2 server to store the eight flash books in and will use the semantic forms to create a page for the entire collection. If we want to we can add a page for each book later. That red link is the title of the document although I agree it would be preferable if it were identified as such. One way would be to tag it like this: Book Title:Blah blah blah. Another way would be to truncate the title however, to be consistent, using a tag like Book Title: would be more consistent since some titles might start with the words 'True P...'
- <<to create a page for the entire collection>> You cannot make one page with form for more than one file. Please right away make one private page with form for EACH of the files.
- Also: You already made the page with TOC for all the books. Each private file gets their own private page, because this is how individual files can be tagged and be found back when someone does research.
- <<That red link is the title of the document>> That probably would have to be a private file, and then the red link you made will not be the name of that page... I don't think it's worthwhile to make a whole SMMA page with this document as title.
- Also: When you add a file to SMMA2, do not automatically use the original title, but make your own title. Sometimes it can have the original title, but don't copy propaganda into the titles of the pages and files that we make. The original title of the file is still found in the source url that is also one field to fill out in the form.
- I'm curious to know if you get a notification after I post this note. I didn't see a notice for your note above and also a previous note. It seems like sometimes I get notification and sometimes not.--Smmaadmin (talk) 00:05, 4 July 2015 (PDT)
- I did not get a notification because you changed your own talk page. If you make a change on MY talk page, i'll get a message. I saw that you made the changes because i use Live Bookmarks for the page 'Recent changes'.
Editing needed for Eight textbooks of Sun Myung Moon#The Eight Textbooks of Sun Myung Moon
You can ABSOLUTELY not make direct links to SMMA2, like you did for 'Exposition of the Divine Principle, 1996'. That blows up our entire security. If you do that, you can just as well upload the file to SMMA. What's the difference?
All private files in SMMA2 should be accessible only through private pages in SMMA. That's the whole idea of protecting ourselves.
One more point: You should check whether material is already present in SMMA. See Private:Book Exposition of the Divine Principle which added already some time ago. It's the same book but your version is in a more fancy format. --DivineCriticizer (talk) 16:37, 4 July 2015 (PDT)
- I'm okay with leaving both versions there, just want to make sure you check before you add new stuff.

Eight textbooks of Sun Myung Moon & links to Private files
What you did newly looks much better now!
I've been looking for a way to make links from public pages to private files without telling readers what we have inside the private files, and with as little visibility of the link as possible. I think i found the solution, see how i added the link to the first of the 8 books in the list.
The system is as follows: The link to private file comes in a reference, and the link only has a number. Clicking on that link goes to a page Private:55, or another number. That numbered private page is a redirect to the real page in Private. That way, a visitor only gets to read the number. And i'll use the numbers to make a list somewhere with everything that's in the private archives. That way all private pages become numbered.
I'll still have to work out that system more today. I'll use this eight textbook page to figure it out, so let me make the links to the private pages in there. --DivineCriticizer (talk) 23:58, 4 July 2015 (PDT)
PS: You might want to clean up your talk page and delete older entries that you're done with. Of course, if you want to save them you could save them in a page you make for yourself with archived talk entries...
Private:Sermons
I moved your page with title Privvate:Sermons to this new page with 'Private' written correctly. When there's a mistake in the prefix 'Private:' the page becomes public. --DivineCriticizer (talk) 00:03, 5 July 2015 (PDT)
About giving names to private files and pages
Out of fear of making too much public, you gave names like 'Private:Sermons.' But then we run into problems if we ourselves want to find files. This name will also appear in categories that we need to search through to find files. It doesn't work if you give such uninformative names. You have to give a proper name to the file, including if possible, time, location, and minimal content.
We will not link from public pages to pages with these names but we'll use the numbered private pages + redirects. That way nobody gets to see the names of the private files, but we ourselves should have good names. See Private:49.
You can leave the older pages as they are, but please think of this when you add new private files. --DivineCriticizer (talk) 05:05, 5 July 2015 (PDT)

Private:World Scripture corrections to be made
- The name: Why the short name that doesn't cover the content? Think of others who do research and see this name and will not know what it means. The full name of the book is also much longer. See Naming the titles of files and their pages
- I added the full book title to the link on the Eight Textbooks of Sun Myung Moon page although I have some reservations. I think this book is a good example of a title that has propaganda in it. In fact, I see this entire book as propaganda. The original World Scriptures book was very different than this one. In World Scriptures 1 the book is dedicated to World Peace and the quest for interreligious harmony and understanding. The first book was prepared by 40 distinguished religious scholars with the common goal of promoting interfaith rapprochement. World Scriptures 2 is dedicated to SMM and has the goal of promoting his ideology. I see this as a good example of the kind of underhanded bait-and-switch method used by Moon and his pals. First they get the endorsement of a bunch of scholars and then they take that work and adopt it for another purpose entirely. Its sleazy. Here are the two titles:
- World Scripture - A Comparative Anthology of Sacred Texts
- World Scripture and the Teachings of Sun Myung Moon
- I believe that World Scriptures 2 is the book Moon recommended as one of his eight "sacred" textbooks which is why I include it in this collection. I will add World Scripturees 1 to the library as well and I'd like to include a note pointing out the differences between the two books. I don't know if it would be appropriate to include that on the book's title page or as a separate commentary elsewhere.
- Why don't you add your view as a Brief Pointed Commentary and make a link to that commentary from the page? Category:Brief pointed commentaries--DivineCriticizer (talk) 22:52, 10 July 2015 (PDT)

I think this book is a good example of a title that has propaganda in it.
Yes, of course. That is the case. But 'World Scripture' may be worse for a title because it doesn't cover the content. Also, for titles of books, we cannot change them even though we don't like them, because if people search inside the archive, they get very confused. Therefore for titles of books, we should use the titles when we refer to them. I'll move the page to one with the full title.--DivineCriticizer (talk) 22:52, 10 July 2015 (PDT)

Private:Conflict over the eight textbooks
What kind of name is this for a file? It doesn't cover a bit what the file really is. I think i already wrote you several times about this problem. You should not make these strange concealing names. This document has a title. Please read AGAIN Naming the titles of files and their pages. Be aware that others have to use this website and then the names that you make for private files do not give them any information. Try to think that you are serving other people and give them what they need.
"Conflict over the eight textbook" would be fitting as a name of a page in SMMA, not as the name that describes a file that is part of the conflict and that represents a unique view of one group or committee.
- Please change the name according to the rules. Move the page to make the new name.
- Then also change the name in the List with private files.--DivineCriticizer (talk) 00:15, 20 July 2015 (PDT)

Moving a page
When a title is wrong in a page, you must 'Move' the page. Don't make a new page and forget to delete the old page, but move the page to the one with the new title. Leave a redirect from the old page to the new one (this is an option that you can choose when moving a page), so that when there's still somewhere a link to the old page, it redirect to the new page.
This is concerning Private:Conflict over the eight textbooks (I deleted this page). --DivineCriticizer (talk) 14:59, 27 July 2015 (PDT)
- Today was the first time I used the 'Move' function. Now I understand how to accomplish changing a title without deleting the previous version, something I didn't know before. --Smmaadmin (talk) 22:48, 27 July 2015 (PDT)

Needs category!--DivineCriticizer (talk) 14:31, 15 August 2015 (PDT)
Research:Cheon Il Guk Constitution
Category is there, but is red link. Please take your time to decide whether to add this category to a higher category, or maybe change the category, or whatever is the best to do...
In general: Do not make new categories or new tags unless you're entirely sure that this is a good idea. When you make a new category you should know how it fits in to the existing system. Study the Category network (link in side bar). Otherwise we end up with a chaotic system.--DivineCriticizer (talk) 14:39, 15 August 2015 (PDT)
Copyright, Fair Use & Libel Reference Page for SMMA Editors
I'm not finished with this page. I want to add a section on Disclaimer usage and discuss some of the implications for SMMA of these laws on our editorial policies
--Smmaadmin (talk) 00:38, 18 September 2015 (MDT)
- I think you found the disclaimer page. Yes, good idea that you write some kind of translation of these laws that applies to our practical usage of materials. By the way, i'm not sure that i understand the title 'Copyright Reference'? --DivineCriticizer (talk) 13:39, 18 September 2015 (MDT)
- I initially wanted to name this page Reference:Copyright but decided to place it in the Help category instead of creating a new category or namespace. I see your point though that it doesn't really translate. As for the Disclaimer, after reading all the rules regarding fair use etc I first want to find out what the purpose of a Disclaimer page is and secondly find out if it covers us for any of the Fair Use issues. The Disclaimer we have doesn't resemble one I pulled off a legal website but I need to figure out what the point of having a disclaimer is any way. I'm fairly certain that there's no Disclaimer page that will exempt us if we violate copyright or defamation laws. When Kook Jin sent a 'Cease and Desist' letter to HWDYKYM it was because they libeled him and not over a copyright violation. I think they solved the problem by removing the pages that contained the libelous statements.
- For now I've collected references to most of the copyright and defamation laws that concern us. Next I'll study them and write up a synopsis so our editors can have a easy to use guide to prevent violations. From what I've read so far, I get the impression that we can safely use just about any material from any where because we're creating an Archive for Research. Where we want to be careful is to avoid Defamation. In practice there are only a few things we have to watch out for but the main one is accusing someone of adultery. That was Kook Jin's problem. --Smmaadmin (talk) 14:54, 18 September 2015 (MDT)
- Okay. It appears to me that you're getting somewhere with this. In the end, i want to be clear what we can do and what we should avoid. "I get the impression that we can safely use just about any material from any where because we're creating an Archive for Research. Where we want to be careful is to avoid Defamation." This is interesting... How does this apply to using pictures, for example, photos of a person who is on our Biographies list? --DivineCriticizer (talk) 14:01, 21 September 2015 (MDT)
- "How does this apply to using pictures, for example, photos of a person who is on our Biographies list?"
- That's a good question. I found a 15 page guide published by the Visual Resources Association describing six uses of copyrighted images that they believe fall within the US doctrine of fair use. Their view is that when used for teaching, study and research, there's more flexibility but I'm still studying the problem. Once I'm a little further along I'll add a section to the Copyright & Fair Use page. --Smmaadmin (talk) 01:01, 23 September 2015 (MDT)
